Lawsuit Against Live! Casino & Hotel for Minimum Wage Violations, Gaming License Deductions

A class and collective action lawsuit has been filed against PPE Casino Resorts Maryland, LLC d/b/a Live! Casino & Hotel outside Baltimore, Maryland for failing to pay its tipped employees properly under federal and Maryland wage laws. 

The complaint alleges that Live! Casino & Hotel violated tipped employees’ rights by:

  • Failing to pay minimum wage and claiming a tip credit without providing a valid tip credit notice; and
  • Deducting the cost of obtaining and renewing state-issued gaming licenses from employees’ wages.

Employees may be eligible to participate in this case if they meet the following criteria: (1)

  1. Worked at Live! Casino & Hotel at any time during the last three years.
  2. Were paid a direct cash wage (i.e., the amount paid by the casino not counting tips) of $7.24 or less and/or had the cost of a state-issued gaming license deducted from their wages.
