Applications Software Technology Data Breach Lawsuit Investigation

04.17.2020

On April 14, 2020, Applications Software Technology, a company focused on cloud software integration, disclosed that certain employee email accounts were breached as part of a targeted phishing scheme that exposed sensitive employee payroll information.

On or about March 9, 2020, an unknown third party accessed employee payroll information after having gained access to an employee’s email address. The third party was able to set up rules in the employee’s email that diverted the employee’s email messages to the third party. The stolen information included highly-sensitive employee W-2 and associated information, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and salary information.
