Instructure, Canvas Data Breach Lawsuit Investigation

Stueve Siegel Hanson, a national leader in data breach and privacy cases, is investigating potential claims against Instructure d/b/a Canvas resulting from a data breach involving customer information. Instructure is a national education software provider.

In May 2026, the threat actor ShinyHunters disclosed that they had breached Instructure’s cybersecurity and obtained records containing student and teacher personal information.  The exact amount and type of information has not been disclosed yet. But Instructure has confirmed the information contains at least Names, email addresses, student id numbers, and messages between users.
