Stueve and Schwartz recognized in Super Lawyers Top 50 Lists

12.07.2018

Patrick J. Stueve and Rachel E. Schwartz, both Partners at Stueve Siegel Hanson, have been recognized as the “best of the best” attorneys in two of Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers’ Top 50 lists.

Every year, Super Lawyers evaluates lawyers across the country for its annual list of top attorneys. Each candidate is measured against 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Nominees from more than 70 practice areas are considered. The patented multiphase selection process is rigorous and methodical, and the Top Lists take exclusivity one step further by featuring selected Super Lawyers attorneys with the most total points earned.

Patrick Stueve: Top 50 Kansas City

Rachel Schwartz: Top 50 Women

Among other accomplishments, recently Stueve and Schwartz prosecuted the multidistrict litigation against agribusiness giant Syngenta on behalf of American corn growers.  In June 2017, after a three-week trial, the jury returned a $217.7 million verdict in favor of Kansas corn farmers – 100 percent of the compensatory damages requested. This jury verdict was the 10th largest verdict in the country in 2017.  This was the only case against Syngenta to reach a verdict before a global settlement was announced with Syngenta.  In April 2018, the Kansas federal court granted preliminary approval of a $1.51 billion global settlement resolving thousands of cases nationwide against Syngenta. The settlement is the largest in the history of GMO seed litigation.
