Cy Pres Award to Benefit the Wounded Warrior Project

05.09.2013

The Wounded Warrior Project received a cy pres award in the matter of Raikos v. JP Morgan Qualified Settlement.  Stueve Siegel Hanson is proud to have directed these funds to this worthy organization.

Cy pres funds are derived when class action funds are unallocated, unclaimed or undeliverable. The court may distribute those funds to nonprofit legal organizations through the doctrine of cy pres (from the French meaning “as near as possible”).

The Wounded Warrior Project was founded in 2003 as a non-profit veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans.
