HCA Healthcare announces Data Breach

On July 10, 2023, HCA Healthcare announced that patient information was stolen and offered for sale on an underground online forum. The stolen information includes patient names, addresses, emails, telephone numbers, dates of birth, gender, patient service date, location and upcoming appointments. The hacker who took credit for the breach also claims to have emails with health diagnosis that correspond to patients’ client IDs.

Hospitals across 20 states were affected, including the following states:

• Kentucky
• Louisiana
• Missouri
