Capital One Data Breach Lawsuit

On July 31, 2019, Stueve Siegel Hanson filed a class action lawsuit against Capital One after the company announced that a hacker exfiltrated nearly 30 GB of Capital One credit application data that included the personal information of approximately 100 million people in the U.S. and 6 million in Canada.

The stolen information includes approximately 140,000 Social Security numbers and 80,000 bank account numbers of U.S. consumers, as well as personal information Capital One collects at the time it receives credit card applications, including names, addresses, zip codes/postal codes, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, and self-reported income.

Capital One said the hack occurred March 22-23, 2019 and includes credit card applications dating as far back as 2005. A criminal complaint states that the perpetrator of the breach attempted to share the stolen information with others online.

If you applied for a Capital One credit card since 2005 believe your information may have been exposed, please call 1-816-714-7137 or fill out the form at the right side of this page.
