After law school, Matt worked in the labor and employment department at Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP in Kansas City. In 2004, Matt left the firm to serve as a law clerk for The Honorable Nanette K. Laughrey, United States District Judge for the Western District of Missouri. At the end of his clerkship in September 2006, Matt joined Stueve Siegel Hanson as an associate.
Matt is active in the community. He currently serves on the leadership boards for the following organizations: Lawyers Association of Kansas City - Young Lawyers Section; The American Legion Boys State of Missouri, Inc.; Mizzou Alumni Association - Kansas City Chapter; Committee for County Progress; and Heartland Democrats of America. Additionally, Matt is a member of Citizens Association; Missouri Institute for Justice, Inc.; Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; and Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.
