Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP has filed a lawsuit against Marsh Inc. and American International Group Inc. (AIG). SSH represents Seaboard Corporation and seeks $66 million in premiums paid and several million dollars in consulting fees. The lawsuit alleges that bids for insurance quotes were rigged and insurance premiums were inflated by millions of dollars over six years.
Marsh was not working in Seaboard's best interest but was instead engaged in a comprehensive conspiracy with insurance companies such as AIG to increase the price of insurance paid by clients like Seaboard and deprive Seaboard of receiving insurance from the company that would best fit Seaboard's unique insurance needs at a fair market price.
