Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP is liaison counsel in a nationwide class action lawsuit involving pre-filled propane tanks sold by Ferrellgas (under the Blue Rhino brand) and AmeriGas for outdoor grills, heaters, and other uses.

Blue Rhino Antitrust and Consumer Protection Lawsuit 

Plaintiffs filed a consolidated class action complaint alleging that Ferrellgas violated federal and state antitrust laws and state consumer protection statutes in its sales and marketing of Blue Rhino pre-filled propane tanks. Click here to view the consolidated class action complaint. Plaintiffs alleged during the last decade Blue Rhino propane tanks have been marketed and sold as full when they were not full. The complaint alleged that in July 2008 Blue Rhino further reduced the weight of propane in its pre-filled tanks from 17 pounds to 15 pounds, but did not adequately disclose this fact to consumers. Plaintiffs further alleged that Blue Rhino entered into an agreement and conspiracy in restraint of trade to artificially increase the price charged to consumers of pre-filled propane tanks.

Proposed Settlement
