OVERVIEW OF THE CASES AND ONGOING INVESTIGATION
The law firms of Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP and Girard Gibbs LLP are investigating and filing several state wide class actions involving propane tanks sold by Ferrellgas (under the Blue Rhino brand) and AmeriGas (at Home Depot and Lowe's) for outdoor grills, heaters and other uses. The lawsuits allege that these companies covertly increased the price of their pre-filled propane tanks by failing to disclose that they were under-filling the tanks and, in doing so, concealing material facts or misrepresenting what customers were purchasing. These cases arise out of this wrongful practice and seek to provide a remedy to those persons who purchased a 20-pound propane tank that was not filled with at least 17 pounds of propane.
