OVERVIEW OF THE CASE AND ONGOING INVESTIGATION
The law firms of Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP and Herrold Herrold & Co. have filed a collective action lawsuit on behalf of customer service representatives and other telephone dedicated employees for unpaid wages and overtime worked at call centers operated by Echosphere, LLC ("Echosphere") and Dish Network, L.L.C., f/k/a Echostar Satellite, L.L.C. ("Dish Network"). The lawsuit alleges that Echosphere and Dish Network have consistently violated federal wage and hour laws by failing to pay employees all earned wages and overtime and failing to accurately record all time worked pre-shift and post-shift. Examples of the alleged unlawful practices include requiring employees to work "off the clock" by not paying for pre-shift work such as logging into computer applications. The workers seek collective action status.
WHO CAN JOIN THESE LAWSUITS?
If you have worked at any Echosphere or Dish Network call center as a customer service representative or in a similar role, you may be eligible to join the suit against the companies. We are aware of call centers in: El Paso, Texas; McKeesport, Pennsylvania; Christiansburg, Virginia; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Pine Brook, New Jersey; Alvin, Texas; Thornton, Colorado; Harlingen, Texas; Bluefield, West Virginia; and Hilliard, Ohio. There may be other call centers as well.
