AT&T, PACIFIC BELL, AT&T MOBILITY WIRELESS, SBC INTERNET CALL CENTERS
Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP is investigating violations of state and federal labor laws regarding unpaid wages and overtime at AT&T and its subsidiaries and affiliates.
Stueve Siegel Hanson filed a collective action lawsuit on behalf of call center employees for unpaid wages and overtime worked at AT&T Operations, Inc., formerly known as SBC Operations, and Southwestern Bell Communications, Inc. The lawsuit alleges that AT&T Operations has consistently violated wage and hour laws by failing to pay call center employees all earned wages and overtime and by failing to accurately record all time worked pre-shift, post-shift, and during unpaid meal breaks. Examples of the alleged unlawful practices include requiring employees to work "off the clock" by not paying for pre-shift work such as logging into computer applications.
On January 12, 2010, the United States District Judge Ortrie Smith conditionally certified the AT&T Operations lawsuit to preceed as a collective action. The Court's certification order applies to current and former employees who staffed customer service lines for AT&T Operations in the last three years. On March 9, 2010, Court-approved notice was mailed to persons identified by AT&T Operations as call center customer service representatives employed at any time since January 12, 2007. If you receive the notice or if you were a call center customer service employee in the last three years and you worked unpaid time for tasks such as logging into computer or phone systems before the start of your paid shift, you may be eligible to participate in the suit. Only persons who timely file a Consent to Join form may participate in the case or share in any recovery.
